— Overview
Emberton Landscapes LLC
Building a modern digital presence for a growing local landscaping company.
I&J Agency rebuilt the digital foundation for Emberton Landscapes around six things: conversion, local search visibility, trust, performance, measurement and long-term growth. The result is a launched website that tells homeowners in Greenwood and Central Indiana exactly who Emberton is, what they do, and how to get an estimate — and an infrastructure layer that lets the owner see what the site is actually doing.

Section 02 — The challenge
We didn't just redesign a website.
We rebuilt the foundation around how the business needs to be discovered, understood, trusted and contacted.
- The business needed a professional digital presence that matched the standard of the work itself.
- Services needed clearer positioning so homeowners could immediately understand what was offered.
- Conversion paths needed to be obvious: call, text or request an estimate without friction.
- The site had to be structured for local search across Greenwood and Central Indiana.
- Most homeowners search on a phone, so the experience had to be mobile-first.
- Trust had to be communicated plainly — owner-led service, insurance, response times, reviews.
- Enquiries needed to be captured reliably rather than lost in an unclear contact path.
- Analytics and search measurement had to exist so results could be evaluated, not guessed.
- The technical foundation had to be scalable as services and service areas expand.
Section 03 — The strategy
The work as a system.
Seven phases, each one dependent on the last. Nothing was designed before it was understood, and nothing shipped before it could be measured.
- 01
Discover
Understand the business, its services, its market, the customers it wants, and what a good enquiry actually looks like.
- 02
Architect
Set the information architecture, navigation, page hierarchy, URL structure and the journey from first click to estimate request.
- 03
Design
Build a professional visual identity and a conversion-focused interface that reflects the quality of the crew's work.
- 04
Optimize
Implement local SEO, technical SEO, metadata, structured content, performance improvements and accessibility considerations.
- 05
Measure
Connect Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console so activity can be observed rather than assumed.
- 06
Launch
Move the finished experience into production, configure the domain and HTTPS, and verify the live infrastructure end to end.
- 07
Grow
Keep improving the site against real data and real user behaviour as an ongoing partnership, not a handover.
Section 04 — UX & conversion architecture
Designed to be understood in seconds.
A homeowner with a phone in one hand does not read a website. The interface had to answer five questions immediately.
- Who Emberton is
- An owner-led local landscaping and lawn care company, named and accountable.
- What they do
- Lawn care, landscaping, property cleanups and seasonal outdoor services.
- Where they serve
- Greenwood and the surrounding Central Indiana service area.
- Why they can be trusted
- Insurance, stated response times, owner oversight and public review presence.
- How to reach them
- Call, text or request a free estimate — reachable from anywhere on the site.
Conversion decisions
- One primary call to action carried consistently through the site: request a free estimate.
- A click-to-call and text pathway kept permanently within reach on mobile.
- Reduced friction in the enquiry form — only the fields needed to quote the work.
- Mobile-first interaction design, since most local service searches happen on a phone.
- Strong visual hierarchy so the page can be scanned, not read.
- Service discovery structured by what homeowners actually ask for.
- Trust signals placed where hesitation happens, not buried on an about page.
- Clear navigation with short, predictable labels and no dead ends.
- Conversion-focused page structure: context, proof, then action on every page.
Section 05 — Website design
A presence that matches the standard of the work.
- A restrained editorial layout that puts photography of the actual work first.
- A typographic system with clear heading hierarchy and comfortable reading measure.
- Colour and contrast tuned for legibility outdoors on a phone screen.
- Consistent, reusable components so new services and pages stay on-brand.
- Deliberate spacing and grid discipline instead of template-driven blocks.
Section 06 — Local & technical SEO
A search foundation, built in — not bolted on.
The site was built to follow modern search-engine best practices and Google's published guidance. Rankings and traffic are not claimed here; only the work that was implemented.
- Local SEO architecture built around services and the Central Indiana service area.
- Technical SEO implemented at the template level rather than patched page by page.
- Unique page titles and meta descriptions written for every indexable page.
- Canonical URLs set so each page self-references and duplicates are avoided.
- XML sitemap published and submitted, with robots directives reviewed.
- Google Search Console connected for indexing and search performance data.
- Structured data implemented where it accurately describes the business and its services.
- Semantic HTML and content structure that reflects real service and location relevance.
- Internal linking that connects services, service areas and conversion pages.
- Clean, readable URL architecture with crawlability and indexability verified.
Section 07 — Performance & infrastructure
Behind the build.
The engineering a business owner never sees, and shouldn't have to think about.
- Production deployment on managed hosting with automated builds.
- HTTPS enforced sitewide with a valid certificate.
- Custom domain configured, including apex and www resolution.
- CDN-backed asset delivery so pages load quickly across the country.
- Responsive behaviour verified from small phones through to large desktops.
- Image and asset optimization with modern formats and lazy loading.
- A proper 404 experience that keeps visitors moving instead of dead-ending.
- Consistent canonical behaviour across redirects and trailing-slash variants.
- Post-launch production verification of every page, link and form path.
Section 08 — Analytics & measurement
Built to be measured, not guessed at.
Behaviour & conversion
- Website
- Google Tag Manager
- Google Analytics 4
- Conversion events
Search performance
- Google Search Console
- Search performance & indexing data
- Google Tag Manager installed as the single container for site tags.
- Google Analytics 4 configured to receive traffic and engagement data.
- Conversion-relevant interactions tracked so enquiry activity is visible.
- Google Search Console connected for impressions, clicks and index coverage.
- Reporting built so the owner sees what the site does, not vanity metrics.
Section 09 — Lead generation
Every enquiry path, engineered.
The quote and contact experience was built to reduce friction and capture qualified enquiries reliably.
- A streamlined estimate request form asking only what's needed to quote.
- Client-side and server-side validation so submissions arrive complete.
- Reliable delivery of each enquiry to the business.
- Conversion event tracking on submission so enquiry volume is measurable.
- Phone and text pathways for customers who would rather not fill in a form.
- Mobile usability tested against real thumb reach and tap-target sizing.
